Of all the sides from the sub-continent I think Sri Lanka are best equipped to win the World Cup as they are in red hot form at the moment.

More than that I think this World Cup is going to be a tournament for the older, vintage players and Sanath Jayasuriya fits into that category as a batsman and a bowler.

They also have a lad at the top of the innings who is set for a big tournament and that’s Upul Tharanga.

I don’t put a lot of emphasis on their recent 3-1 series defeat to India as they rested some key players for that trip.

Make no mistake they will be hungry to regain the trophy they won in such spectacular fashion in 1996.

There is strength throughout their line-up with Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara, Murali and Chaminda Vaas, all vastly experienced and all potential match-winners.
