SC issues interim order preventing Gotabhaya arrest:


The supreme court has issued an interim order preventing the arrest of former Defense secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa till the hearings of the fundamental rights petition filed by him in the supreme court concludes.

The supreme court issued this order when they took up the fundamental rights pettion for consideration. The case was taken up before justices, Eva Wanasundara and Sarath De Abrew as justice Bhuwaneka Aluwihare withdrew from the panel of judges who were appointed to consider the petition.

The petition will be taken up for consideration once again on the 6th of October.
