Sinhalese Fishermen Rescue Tamil Refugees in the deep sea off Mannar
Sri Lanka never had a issue of racism but terrorism; exemplifying the reality in Sri Lankan conflict, a group of Sinhalese fisherman rescued fleeing Tamil villagers who were drowning in the middle of the sea on the 19th of May at around 11p.m. The group of Tamil refugees included members of three families who had been fleeing to India due to the increase of violence in the North and East.
Savarimuttu Subramanium, the leader of the fleeing families, said the group was fleeing their village, Thirikpadaloor in Trincomalle, since two villagers were hacked to death at the vegetable market, Trincomalee a few days ago.
The group of 18 civilians including two babies (two months), two little girls, three women and eleven men had fled their village on the 17th and came to MANNAR seeking refuge from possible violence creators . Later the group had joined another two civilians who seemed be engaged in human smuggling to India and left the MANNAR shore in a small fishing vessel around 4.p.m. on the 19th of May. Due to the rough seas, usually experienced in Southwest monsoon, the boat had capsized after 7 hours of sailing and its 20 passengers were drowning when Sinhalese fishermen rescued them.
S Kumaleshan, who handled the boat said: "LTTE come and attack and flee away. Then the army, navy and police come and beat us. We hoped our children will be safe at least in India".
According to the rescued villagers, many villagers in the eastern part of the country have already left for Tamil Nadu in India hoping for a life without claymore mines and shell attacks.
The villagers blamed the LTTE for instigating violence and making them suffer from an unwanted war, and also to the government on its failure to stop violence against the Tamil community in the country.
A Sinhalese fisherman among the group of rescuers said, "We initially thought it was a LTTE boat. We were afraid. But we heard shouting for help and we saw the women and the children in the boat". The stark realty of the incident is that the reason for those innocent Tamil civilians to risk their lives in fleeing their homeland, is the terrorism; the fear felt by those Sinhalese fishermen prior to rescuing these Tamil people was also the same terrorism; but it is certainly not the "Sinhalese racism" that enable the saving of 20 precious lives of innocent Tamil people .
It’s almost high time the world awoke to the reality that the Sinhalese people are very much concern about their country’s Tamil brethren. What more glaring example than this very heart rendering rescue of so many precious lives; 20 hapless Tamil people destined to drown in the mighty Indian ocean. This is compassion, empathy and sympathy at its ever high, that which has throughout the ages of history been the hallmark of the traditional Sinhala people, the world always knew. Join us or Die – LTTE kills Tamil children who refuse to join

LTTE terrorists killed a 12 year old school child who refused join LTTE by shooting in the night on 20th May at ERAVUR. The child was in his sleep at his Grandmother’s residence when the group of terrorists grabbed him out and shot to death.
The dead child named S. Sathyan ,a student of Valaichenai Hindu College had been forced to join LTTE by the LTTE’s "Baby brigade" recruiters for several times. It has been revealed that the child had refused the LTTE orders and was seeking refuge at his grand mother’s house.
The civilians in the area said that the LTTE has intensified child conscription as to avenge the depleting support of Tamil community to the Terror organization and requested the Human rights activists to take prompt action against this grave crime. It is evident that LTTE leadership is desperately looking for more children, specially from the EASTERN province, to utilize as "one way" fighters in the "final war" .
LTTE leadership has been using children recruited from the Eastern province in their " first wave of attack" ,of which these cadres utilized are not expected to return from the battlefield. Source: Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka
Erasing The Tamil Leadership…
By A.P. Sagarika
Tigers have not fought any real war against the Colombo government. Instead it was more keen on cascading the potential leadership of Tamil Nationalism to assure it’s so called “Sole Representative” phenomena.
Curtailing the truth and scattering Sinhalese phobia was used to tarnish the brotherhood of the Sinhalese, against the doubtful Tamil community. Though it looked as a struggle against the Sinhalese governance in the early stages , the whirlpool of uncertainty has reassembled it as a struggle for survival by the terrorists in the present context.
It is he who betrayed Tamil Nationalism , baptizing the terrorist struggle with blood and bullet, assassinating former JAFFNA Mayor ALFRED DURAIYAPAH in 27th July 1975. The struggle which he later called a freedom fight against the COLOMBO Government , lime lighted with the above assassination of a Tamil fellowship itself.
Prabakaran, from the initial stage feared fair competition. Suffered with a social fear that Tamil leadership would deteriorate his legitimacy over the Tamil community. The doubt and suspicion haunted in the tiger supremo’s mind over the Tamil intellectuals led the fearsome tiger paw to a chain of brutal and dreadful killings and sabotages leaving no choice for intellectuals , except to seek refuge or get gunned down by shadow killers.
P’karan, the traitor of Tamils, abandoned revising Tamil nationalism , and clutched bombs and ammunitions to penetrate into the rising Tamil leadership. More darker was the story; it was identified the assassinations of potential Tamil leadership, Tamil intellectuals, civilians and children were being used as a fertilizer to harvest sympathy among the global community, aiding their terror activities world wide. This was a practice continued at any cost. More often the Tamil civilians were used as a bate against the
intense opposition by the international community. Recently a new methodology was identified; even pro – LTTE mediators were ghostly killed, whose deaths the Tigers find more profitable towards their survival effort.
Prabakaran has being almost successful in erasing the potential Tamil leadership , with a handful left to oppose him against his treachery over the Tamil community. Pro – LTTE media has adopted a safer passage along with the Tiger terrorism. IT IS BETTER LIVI
NG WITH THE DEVIL RATHER BEING HAUNTED, they might have thought.
The following are evidences of the Tiger Supremo’s hatred over the Tamil leadership. Astonishingly, the static’s show a fearsome percentage of seventy seven percent (77%) killing rate over the Tamil leaders by the LTTE terrorists from 1975 to 2006 excluding the failed attempts.
Hence it is vested upon you to decide whether to continue funding such terrorism, or refrain from any further contribution.
