Dear Mr. Akashi,

CONDEMNATION OF STATEMENT

We wish to strongly condemn your resent statement issued to the ABC media with regard to the present situation in Sri Lanka where you have emphasized to the fact that an UN Peacekeeping Force should be brought in if full scale war broke out in Sri Lanka. This statement is a blatant violation of all accepted norms & protocols of an envoy of a friendly nation against another.

The recent incidents in Sri Lanka was a calculated attempt by the LTTE Terrorists to deliberately jettison the second round of the Peace Talks in Geneva. You may recall at the first Geneva Talks it was agreed by the LTTE Terrorists that they would halt all attacks on the Security Forces & Police of the GOSL. Within a few days after the talks these ruthless murderers attacked the security forces without any provocation leaving well over 80 personnel dead and wounding around 200 personnel. In the meantime they attacked and killed many innocent Sinhalese & Muslim civilians in the Eastern Province where in one instance they hacked a mother who was breast feeding her infant, proving the cruelty & inhuman tactics use by the LTTE Terrorists. The LTTE Terrorists violated the so called “Cease Fire Agreement” almost every day and it’s surprising to note that despite pleaders of a safety net by the International Community including your country these attacks continue victimizing the GOSL military personnel or innocent defenseless civilians. We are surprised at these propagates of the CFA for posing a total deaf & blind attitude on the actions of the LTTE Terrorists despite having obligations towards the CFA and in general to a friendly Nation. A vast majority of Sri Lankans are aware of the hidden agenda behind these so called International Community as it was shown at the recently concluded Presidential Election where the blue eyed federalist candidate was defeated by the Unitary concept leader who was not favored by many Western nations.

The people of Sri Lanka treats the Japanese as their own and the two ancient nations enjoys centuries old relations on Religious, Cultural & Political fields. The historical Buddhist ties are intact for well over 2000 years! It should be recalled when the Western Powers were to punish Emperor Hirohito and Japan for war crimes during the second World War, it was Sri Lanka who came to the rescue of your Country at the San Francisco Peace Conference where our representative the then Minister of State Hon. J.R. Jayawardena who later became the first Executive President of Sri Lanka, told the entire world that “Hatred cannot be cured by Hatred” citing the great teaching of the Lord Buddha and that the Emperor & Japan should be pardoned and the entire world agreed and our interference saved Japan from a certain political disaster. As a gesture of goodwill consecutive Japanese Governments helped Sri Lanka in many ways. Even today Japan is the largest donor to Sri Lanka and in reciprocate Sri Lanka imports many Japanese products which constitute for 70% of our total imports. The friendly people of Sri Lanka are very disappointed about the recent attitude of Japan and especially on you for your conduct with regard to the so called Peace Process. As it’s evident about the path taken by the LTTE Terrorists who have breached many International covenants by recruiting Child soldiers, Using Suicide Bombers, Genocide of innocent civilians ect., The International Community is mealy issuing condemnations of the ruthless atrocities committed by the LTTE Terrorists whereas acts contrary on organizations such as the Hamas, Hisbulla and Al Qaeda. Sri Lanka has on many International forums have commended and pledged support to your global fight against these Terrorist organizations.

We urge you to take serious note on above facts and help a friendly nation to combat effectively LTTE Terrorists who poses a danger not only to our country but to the entire world as the LTTE Terrorists are very much involved in International trading of illegal weapons, Terrorist training, Human smuggling & Drug trafficking. We firmly believe that there is absolutely no need for the UN Peacekeeping Army to be deployed here if full scale war broke out and wishers to state that the idea itself was against the sovereignty of Sri Lanka. We also believe your suggestion is with some ulterior motives as in the case of Yugoslavia where it could be recalled of your personal involvement paved the way for the destruction that country where ethnic and religious hatred caused untold misery to millions of people in the Balkans. We wish to ask you whether your involvement in our country is a ploy to destroy Sri Lanka and help create a separate state to be given to the notorious, barbaric, fascist LTTE Terrorists? We strongly object to you for interfering with the affairs of the State of Sri Lanka as the internal conflict in our country has now being internationalized and gone beyond the local control. We would be officially reporting about your conduct to H.E. the Prime Minister of Japan and to H.E. the President of Sri Lanka in the near future. We also urge you to issue a clarification with regard to your comment to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and is issue an apology to the Government of Sri Lanka and it’s people.
